Anne Wainscott-Sargent brings 14 years of journalistic, corporate
and agency communications experience to her writing/copyediting
and marketing communications practice.
Ms. Sargent began her writing career at age 18 as a freelance reporter
for her hometown newspaper, The Dayton Daily News. She was a working reporter
throughout her college years, earning a Bachelor of Science in Journalism
from Ohio University's E.W. Scripps School of Journalism in 1991. She was
among a select group of seven journalism graduates across the United States
to work as reporters in the Middle East through a program sponsored by
the National Council on U.S.-Arab Relations. Anne served as a general-assignment
reporter for The Gulf Daily News in Manama, Bahrain, in the Fall of 1991.
She then held key writing and PR positions at AT&T and at NCR, where
her work received local, regional and national recognition from Women in
Communications, Inc. and the International Association of Business Communicators.
Today, Ms. Sargent leads a high-quality writing, editing and
marketing practice focused on helping her clients take their
message to the next level. Her clients include leading organizations
such as NCR Corporation, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention,
EMS Technologies, Mobile Satellite Ventures, FIRST Robotics and the Georgia
Institute of Technology. Representative projects include:
Researching and
writing features and leadership profiles for CDC's employee intranet portal,
CDC Connects.
Directing the corporate public relations effort for wireless and satellite technology firm, EMS Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ: ELMG), including developing a company-wide external communications strategy and overseeing news-release approvals for all EMS divisions.
Crafting and
executing the next-generation external positioning strategy for Mobile
Satellite Ventures, North America's leading network satellite service
provider, including writing press releases, marketing success stories,
and other materials.
Serving as a
senior marketing and technology writer for Teradata, a division of NCR,
with deliverables ranging from partner data sheets and success stories
to newsletter content for PARTNERS, Teradata's annual data-warehousing
user conference.
Ms. Sargent has been a member of the International Association of Business Communicators, the Public Relations Society of America and the Atlanta Press Club. Recent writing awards include the IABC Bronze Quill Award of Excellence for Feature Writing, the IABC Silver Quill Award of Merit for Feature Writing, the IABC Gold Quill Award of Excellence in the overall employee publication category and an Addy Award for brochure copy writing.
Ms. Sargent enjoys tennis, narrative non-fiction writing and travel with
her family in her free time. She resides in Roswell, Georgia,
with her husband, Jeff, and children, Ryan and Sarah.
