Atlanta

Employee Communications Writing
Besides being Annes current home city, Atlanta served
as a key locale for a major writing assignment in 1996
covering
the Centennial Olympic Games for AT&Ts employee
magazine. Flying to Atlanta a week before the Games, Anne
began to profile employees and AT&T organizers to capture
the Olympic spirit of AT&T people. The AT&T
issue was about to go to print when the bombing in the AT&T-sponsored
Centennial Olympic Park occurred. Within hours, Anne developed
a new cover story on the breaking news, including the heroic
role of AT&T people during the crisis. The series of articles
earned her an IABC Silver Quill Award in Feature Writing and
contributed to the magazine winning an IABC Gold Quill Award
in the Overall Publication category.
Tradeshow Media Relations
At the 2000 National Education Computing Conference (NECC)
in Atlanta, Anne served as PR spokeswoman for T.H.E. Journal,
a leading ed-tech publisher, and T.H.E. Institute, the magazines
professional development division, as well as for FundingFactory.com,
the industrys leading destination for e-commerce-driven
school fundraising. Anne helped launch her third client, Goosewing,
at NECC, with a press release and interviews describing Goosewing
as the first online provider of customizable printed course
material for the K-12 market. Anne secured press interviews
for all three of her clients, including editors at Instructor,
EduVentures, Teaching and Learning and Converge magazines.
