In the spring of 1998, AT&T announced the first-ever
telemedicine link on Mount Everest. Health data on climbers
could now be monitored remotely by doctors in the United States
and at the climbers'; base camp at 18,000 feet. The data traveled
via satellite, transoceanic fiber and global Integrated Services
Digital Network (ISDN) service.
In support of this media announcement, Anne coordinated a
day-long media tour to Chicago for an AT&T executive.
Interviews were scheduled with Chicago Tribune, Telephony,
Global Telephony and Business Communications Review, resulting
in significant coverage.
